Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Decibel and the services we provide at heydecibel.com. By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. Your account
You must be 13 or older to use Decibel. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
2. What Decibel does
Decibel converts articles, links, and voice recordings into audio episodes for personal listening. You can save content from around the web and listen to it in the app.
3. Your content
You own the content you bring into Decibel. By using the app, you give us a limited license to process and store that content to deliver the service to you. We don't claim ownership of anything you save.
You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use the content you add — we convert articles for personal use only, not for redistribution.
4. Subscriptions
Decibel offers paid subscriptions (Unlimited) through the App Store. Prices and billing intervals are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings
We don't offer refunds beyond what Apple's standard policy provides
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Use Decibel to infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our APIs
Use the service for any unlawful purpose
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee it. We may update, pause, or discontinue features at any time. We're not liable for downtime or data loss.
7. Disclaimer
Decibel is provided "as is." We make no warranties about accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Audio generated by AI may contain errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
